What is periodontitis?
Periodontitis (periodontosis) is an inflammation which provokes, together with the appearance of gingival and bony pouches, the instability of teeth and their consequent loss.
The evolutionary process of this disease may be summarized in six symptoms, easy to be diagnosed simply observing your dog:
- Gums bleeding
- Alitosis and increasing salivation
- Teeth instability
- Painful abscesses and problems in mastication
- Teeth loss
- A state of prostration commonly caused by a temperature due to severe bacterial spreading into blood

Frequently observed complications:
Periodontitis is reversible if cured early; it is therefore fundamental to use k.b. weekly, in order to keep a correct oral hygiene. Last but not least, periodical checkups at your veterinary are advisable.
