How to use Kelly Brush

The dog is not used to teeth brushing : put on the right size gloves, so to make them adhere to your fingers .Smear some tooth paste for dogs (it contains enzymes which can melt both tartar and plaque) on your index. Let the dog lick it, trying to understand which tooth paste is the one it likes more. Repeat for 4/5 days.

After this period , during which your dog will have tasted its favourite toothpaste , raise the dog’s lips in the back-that is to say far from its nose- and using your gloved fingers smeared with toothpaste, gently massage both teeth and gums . In the meanwhile put your left hand at the back of the dog’s head. Repeat for 2/3 consecutive days.

At the beginning massage the teeth gently ( in particular if the gums are irritated )with movements front to back and up-down. Exert a delicate pressure with your left hand at the back of the dog’s head – in order to keep it still- but don’t press too much. Alternating use of hands is recommended.

At the end of the brushing, slip your glove off and throw it into a dustbin. Used sponges, in fact, could be contaminated by pathogenic bacteria.
